In this pattern a toe up construction with a gusseted heel is used: This method provides a good fit and the ability to check the length of the sock quickly and easily during knitting. It also presents the advantage of using up different bits of yarn; just weigh them first and halve the amount to use in each sock! Different photo-tutorials are included, which explain some new way to work symmetric decreases at the heel. Materials
Yarn: Any kind of sock-yarn at 230 yards or 210 m / 50gr: Total amount of yarn: 1 skein or 26(33,35,40,43)gr 111(137,147,167,180) m or 121(150,161,183,197) yards. Depending on if and how you intend to use 2 or more colours the amount for each colour might be different. As a reference: Half of the total yarn amount was needed for both MC and CC in the pictured bicoloured models with MC heel. |
