The beret style hat can be worn either on it’s feminine lace side with the lining peeping discreetly through, or on the sporty side with narrow stripes on bolder contrast colour and tiny little eyelets near the brim.
This pattern uses a tubular cast on for a very neat looking edge that has also extreme stretch (it allows the brim to stretch up to almost 35% more of it’s initial size).
In the pictures the sample is a size M; shown on a 55,5cm/ 22 inches head.
All techniques and methods are either explained in the pattern itself, or links are provided that point to web-tutorials.

The reversible hat in light fingering weight wool will still keep you warm, because of its two layers - but the overall look and feel of the hat remains light and airy! Both sides share the same ribbing, which is worked at the start in only one layer to reduce any bulk near the face. The brim is attached seamlessly to both the lace and the stripe hat, in an innovative and surprisingly easy method.
(A photo tutorial on the patterns last page explains the seamless integration of both sides of the hat to the ribbing). Yarn:
Holst Garn Supersoft 100% uld (314 yards or 287m/50gr).
If you’d like to substitute the yarn, please bear in mind that the yarn used here is a “light fingering” yarn and should better be substituted with a lace yarn that has similar yardage. Usual fingering or sock-yarn tend to be much heavier and might result in a bigger sized hat.
Needles:
2,5mm / US 1.5
3mm / US 2.5
Skill Level: Intermediate to Advanced.
