A versatile piece, this cozy cape can be worn in two different ways and thrown on for a stylish statement piece that finds itself in between a garment and an accessory . This unusual design has a comforting, oversized fit while still looking elegant and feminine. The beginner friendly knitting pattern features a an unusual construction and is mostly worked flat in easy garter stitch.

This beginner-friendly CAPE-CARDIGAN is as easy to wear as it is to knit and a perfect piece to quickly throw over your shoulders when feeling chilly while working at your desk (or while knitting)! It has a very easy and straightforward construction based on rectangles in garter stitch. The final shape comes together when folding the project and seaming the front edges to the back rectangle. Short rows allow for a better fit around the neck and give the hem a slightly tailored cut, while a shaped underarm section provides for a natural sleeve position. A neckband lining in a contrasting colour, short sleeves in basket weave stitch and striped sections at the underarms give this basic design a refined touch. You can wear the finished piece with the neckband on the top or upside down, with the stripes on your chest (as shown in the last picture of this page). |

Sizing (to fit below bust size ranges): XS/S (78,5cm or 31" to 86cm or 34"), M/L (94cm or 37" to 101,5cm or 40"), XL/2XL (109cm or 43" to 116cm or 46"), 3XL/4XL (124,5cm or 49" to 132cm or 52"). Note that ease is already built into the pattern (more in smaller sizes and less in larger sizes): Shown in a size XS/S with approx. 66 cm / 26" positive ease at bust. Needles (at least 120 cm/47" long) TWO 5mm/US8 circular needles. 4.5mm/US7 circular needles. Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.
