A feminine jumper that combines a comfortable but still tailored fit with romantic lace and playful stripes. Stripes & bolder colour are kept on the top to keep the focus near the face, enhance the shoulders and for a slimmer silhouette, while the lace pattern of the shoulder saddle continues down to the sleeves until the cuff.
This pullover is worked seamlessly from the top down.
The back and front are worked from the shoulder saddles to the armholes. After the underarm the body is knitted to the hem in one piece. The sleeve sts are picked up and the sleeve caps are knitted with short-rows to allow the lace pattern of the saddles to flow into the sleeve.
The garment is shaped with darts for a three dimensional tailored result and the bottom flares out in a slight A line shape.
A different lace pattern on the hem is worked in the sewn bind off and allows for a glimpse on the contrast lining.

Needles:
3mm/US2.5 circular needles (at least 80 cm/31" long) . For hem: 2mm/US0 & 2,5mm/US1.5 (at least 80 cm/31" long) circular needle. To pick up sts & for sleeves: 2mm/US0 and 3mm/US2.5 DPNs. Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge. Other: tapestry needle, stitch markers in two different colours, stitch holders or smooth scrap yarn. Gauge: 26sts and 36 rows in 10 cm/4" in Stocking stitch on 3mm/ US 2.5 needles, after blocking. 28sts and 48 rows in 10 cm/4" in Lace stitch on 3mm/ US 2.5 needles, after blocking. |
