This dress is worked seamlessly from the top down.
The back and front are worked from the shoulder saddles to the armholes. After the underarm the body is knitted to the hemline in one piece. The sleeve sts are picked up and the sleeve cap is knitted with short-rows to allow the seed stitch pattern of the saddles to flow into the sleeve.

Stripes & bolder colour are kept on the top to keep the focus near the face, enhance the shoulders and for a slimmer silhouette, while the pattern of the shoulder saddle adds some texture to the shoulders.
The dress is shaped with darts for a three dimensional tailored result and the waist is kept slightly higher than usual.
Different positive ease at the bust, the waist and the hips allow for a more flattering shape, that does not cling to the body.

26.5sts and 36 rows in 10 cm/4" in stocking stitch on 3,5mm/ US 4 needles, after blocking.
28sts and 50 rows in 10 cm/4" in seed stitch
on 3mm/ US2.5 needles, after blocking.
